Pengangkatan Guru Besar Baru di BDP

 

Mulai terhitung sejak 1 Mei 2017, Departmen BDP IPB memiliki seorang Guru Besar Baru untuk bidang Ilmu Kesehatan Ikan. Adalah Prof. Dr. Ir. Widanarni, M.Si, salah seorang staf pengajar dan peneliti pada Divisi Kesehatan Ikan secara resmi diangkat menjadi Guru Besar melalui SK Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia No. 74993/A2.3/KP/2017. Dengan demikian, Departemen BDP secara umum, dan Divisi Kesehatan Ikan secara khusus, telah memiliki seorang ahli yang bidang ilmunya terspesialisasi pada Ilmu Kesehatan Ikan.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Widanarni, M.Si sendiri telah lama menggeluti penelitian kesehatan organisme akuatik, terutama untuk bidang Probiotik Akuakultur. Beliau telah menghasilkan banyak karya tulis ilmiah pada bidang tersebut dan telah diterbitkan pada berbagai macam jurnal ilmiah yang bereputasi nasional maupun internasional. Produk probiotik yang beliau hasilkan diharapkan dalam waktu yang tidak lama akan dapat dirasakan oleh masyarakat, terutama pembudidaya ikan di Indonesia.

Semoga dengan pengangkatan ini, akan membuat penelitian kesehatan ikan di Departemen BDP menjadi lebih terarah dan terfokus dengan lebih baik, serta dapat memberikan manfaat yang nyata bagi pengembangan ilmu akuakultur. Diharapkan juga dengan pengangkatan beliau, akan memotivasi rekan kerja beliau di Departemen BDP untuk meraih guru besarnya. Amin..

Born in 1967, Prof. Dr. Widanarni is a lecturer in Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Bogor Agricultural University since 1994. She graduated her Fisheries Bachelor's majoring in Aquaculture in Bogor Agricultural University in 1991. She completed her master study in Microbiology in 1999 and her doctoral study in 2004 in the same university. She has been studying and performing research in microbiology, probiotic, prebiotic, and synbiotic in Aquaculture since 1998, during which she has published some scientific papers in reputable national and international journals. Since May 2017, she has pointed as a Profesor in Fish Probiotic. She also interests in fish disease and another fish health research.
